Real-Life Mom Experiences

Posted on January 2, 2025

When people ask me about what it is to be a mother, I usually say something like “It’s so much more than just giving birth.” Having children requires you to transform from a relatively egocentric person into an all-out altruistic person. You give up your desires and needs to ensure that you’re providing for your child’s emotional and intellectual well-being. And of course, you do it all with heaps and piles of unconditional love.

But I don’t think this definition of a mother is enough. A real mother goes above and beyond to make sure that her children are happy, safe, loved, and supported in every way she can. She sacrifices sleep, she puts off career goals and she often puts her own wants and needs on the back burner.

Real-Life Mum Experiences: Navigating Parenthood with Grace and Humor

Real-life mum experiences are not easy. But it’s worth it. And some days it brings you joy beyond measure. Others suck so bad that you wonder why the hell you ever decided to do it in the first place. But, no matter what challenges you face or how far off from your goals you feel, you always remember that you’re a mom and you’re in this together.

For the last several years our board has been praying about producing a fourth year of the Mom to Mom curriculum. We have heard from many of you, our member moms and Titus 2 leaders, about the topics that you’d like to see covered in this series. We believe that this is what the Lord has been calling us to do.

I am what you could call a permanent traveler. I’m in a constant need for a change of scenery. An almost animal instinct to see what’s going on elsewhere, to open my eyes to a new world, far from my native Spain. It was an epiphany: I belonged somewhere else and somewhere else was everywhere.
